As a Telephone Business Development Manager you will be a key contact for the mortgage broking community, responsible for delivering amazing service to all of our customers, and creating fans by building relationships while promoting the specialist proposition to grow our mortgage business. You will work as part of a team of colleagues each responsible for team broker panel, as well as supporting the field based Business Development Managers and Regional Relationship Managers. You will help them with outbound broker activity including welcome calls, new business’s queries and team meetings, whilst managing quality of new business submission
Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working and you will work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19.
So what would you be doing….
• Manage and grow a portfolio of mortgage intermediaries by identifying new opportunities whilst developing and maintaining strong business relationships
• Provide AMAZEING service to these Mortgage Intermediaries to ensure they have a full understanding of the Metro Bank mortgage proposition and our target market, ensuring this is provided within agreed SLA’s
• You will do this both proactively, by building relationships and providing training and support and reactively, by dealing with daily enquiries from Intermediaries
• Develop, implement and review our contact strategy for the intermediary mortgage channel, working with the Telephone Business Development Team Manager, Business Development Managers/Regional Relationship Managers and our key account functional area
• Any other duties as required that reasonably fall within the role

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• Knowledge and work experience gained within a previous mortgage role within the intermediary or direct industry, or as a Telephone BDM in another organisation
• Excellent and proven relationship management and stakeholder management skills
• Good knowledge and experience of the mortgage market
• Understanding of the intermediary/direct mortgage sectors
• Good mortgage product and policy knowledge, as well as understanding the competition
• Resilient to change and able to adapt quickly
