Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working.

So what would you be doing?...

• Develop PCA product strategy, based on the bank’s ambitions, customer and market insights.

•Keep on the pulse of market, competitor, technology and customer change – and bring this knowledge into the team.
•Push the bar higher for how we work, continually identifying and mobilising improvements.
•Undertake commercial management for your products, build strong understanding of drivers of financial performance, develop accurate forecasts working with channel and finance stakeholders.
•Effectively manage risk for your products, being clear on conduct risks that apply, and how you will understand, track and control this for your product set. Ensure product governance processes are followed.
•Build strong relationships across the team, your key stakeholder groups and the senior team.
•Work with stores and telephone banking to ensure colleagues are equipped for conversations and processes for your products.

You need to be this kind of person…

• Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers
• Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment
• Prepared to stick at something – we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job as we want people who are prepared to learn and grow
• Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do

And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the courage to call out any concerns.

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
•You will have experience of Product Management within or outside current accounts
•You will have experience of Strategy and/or Product Development.
•You will have understanding of customer needs, sources of insight and segmentation.  You will have experience of delivering propositions, from the initial insight, developing the idea and take through to delivery.
•You will have experience of working with Value Stream delivery, either as a Business Owner or as a Product Owner.
•You will have leadership experience and be confident in having open and honest conversations, making relationships at a senior level and influence using a variety of styles.

•You will be a strong communicator, able to distil complex topics and communicate simple and pragmatic solutions.
•You will be experienced at coaching and mentoring colleagues in product management practices, leading from the front by example.
•You will need to be organised and great at planning ahead, as well as being able to prioritise and manage your time.

Important Footnote Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box.  We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.  So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck!
