Team Brand & Marketing

Location Holborn Office

County Central London

Ref # 16598

Closing Date 16-Jun-2022

As Product Manager for the Public Website, you will lead on and have full responsibility for the performance of the Metro Bank public website. You will define, develop and manage the product backlog to deliver new features and functionality on time and to budget, helping build Metro Bank’s digital capability, proactively driving change and implementing industry best practice. You will also manage and support the Public Website content team in building and delivering new content for the Public Website.

Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working.

So what would you be doing?...

•Working with product/marketing managers, project teams and delivery teams from all across the business, providing them with technical expertise and sound advice to develop new features and functionality for the Metro Bank website and to agree the product roadmap.
•Managing the relationship with our external web development agency and prioritising and directing their work to build new features and functionality for the Metro Bank website, ensuring that new features/releases reflect agreed scope, budgets and timelines.
•Continuously reviewing, managing and/or remediating risks and vulnerabilities (both solution-based and team-based).
•Simultaneously dealing with the ‘BAU’ detail and delivery, as well as leading a well-informed, thoughtful strategy for our website proposition, identifying opportunities and capability gaps that we need to address based on relevant insight.
•Interpreting data from Google Analytics and other sources and make recommendations based on your analysis.
•Building strong relationships with and influencing key functions across Metro Bank (e.g. products, IT, InfoSec, customer contact centre, project delivery, communications etc.).
•Managing and leading on the delivery of continuous improvement to website functionality and content (including scope, budget and timelines), identifying and driving the implementation of changes in responding to business needs and industry best practice.
•Owning the product backlog for the Metro Bank website.
•Managing and leading on releases/updates to the website and ensuring business readiness so that the front-line, operations, marketing & PR etc. are fully informed and delivery goes smoothly.
•Implementing a technical SEO strategy to ensure website performance is constantly optimised.
•Developing and implementing website management processes and procedures and be the digital content champion and produce guidelines and policies.
•Leading on diagnosis and rectification of customer and performance issues with the site.

You need to be this kind of person…

• Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers
• Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment
• Prepared to stick at something – we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job as we want people who are prepared to learn and grow
• Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do

And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the courage to call out any concerns.

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
•You should have experience managing a website and have excellent knowledge of digital products, on both the content and the technical delivery side. Plus digital/web planning experience (i.e. wireframes, style guides) and managing and producing customer-facing material.
•You will have experience working with online customer experience, incorporating the principles of usability, accessibility, marketing and design.
•It is essential that you have previously worked in the role of a Product Manager.
•You will have experience working with third party analytical tools (e.g. Google Analytics) to provide product usage and traffic insight.
•You will have experience working in an agile delivery environment, working across different digital channels and working collaboratively in a multi-functional team.
•Naturally you will have strong technical SEO knowledge.
•The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of front-end development languages, including HTML and CSS and knowledge of tag management.
•Ideally you will have an understanding of MarTech, including content testing and optimisation, personalisation and analytics.

Important Footnote Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box.  We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.  So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck!
