As a Lead Mortgage Underwriting Team Leader, you will provide amazing support to the Head of Mortgage Underwriting by managing the day to day operational processes within the Mortgage Underwriting team and making the Mortgage Application process as simple as possible for brokers and colleagues!

So what will you be doing?

• Overseeing the Mortgage Underwriting Support function including line Management of Mortgage Underwriting Support colleagues and new to role Mortgage Underwriters
• Constantly looking for ways to streamline the ongoing processes and making sure that all process guides and supporting documentation are kept up to date
• Onboarding new colleagues; managing access authorities, creating and maintaining colleague training, competency and performance records
• Managing team MI and presenting Mortgage Underwriting performance MI to the Head of Mortgage Underwriting and other key stakeholders
• Overseeing the monthly control checking and quality assurance for the Mortgage Underwriting team
• Supporting system developments and assisting with software changes, liaising closely with Change and IT BAU support to complete UAT testing and creating huddle/release packs when required
• Investigating and responding to Expressions of Dissatisfaction and incidents raised by the business

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• In order to be AMAZEING in this role, you will have a good knowledge of the mortgage end to end process 
• We need you to have proven track record within an Operations line management position or Operations role with supervisory responsibilities 
• To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the preparation and presentation of performance MI to management and other key stakeholders
• It is key that you have experience using Microsoft Power BI 
• Knowledge of Mortgage Underwriting or Credit Assessment and experience of working with DPR would be advantageous
