Are you a Data and Management Information Champion? Can you work collaboratively with the wider business to deliver structural improvements to our data warehouse? Would you like to share your technical expertise with your colleagues? If yes, then we may have the role for you.

As the Lead Credit Risk MI Analyst you will support the Risk Analytics team and the wider business by enhancing the effectiveness, accuracy and efficiency of reporting and data, improving the team’s ability to manage credit risk for the Bank.

Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working.

So what would you be doing?...

•Building and maintaining automated dashboards and reporting to enable stakeholders to self-service information on key credit risk metrics, understanding the credit profile of customers and impact assessing changes.
•Developing automated processes that identify anomalous credit risk performance.
•Creating high-value analysis, synthesising quantitative and qualitative data to provide clear, actionable insights and present these findings to the team/stakeholders.
•Identifying data quality issues and areas for improvement in existing processes and work with product/data engineering to fix issues and deliver improvements.

You need to be this kind of person…

•Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers

•Prepared to stick at something - we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job as we want people who are prepared to learn and grow
•Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do

And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the courage to call out any concerns.

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

•Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
•Naturally, you will have expert understanding of SQL to retrieve data for analysis
•To be successful in this role, you will need sound experience of data visualisation tools such as PowerBI
•In order to hit the ground running you will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to manipulate data warehouse tables
•It would be amazing if you have experience of credit risk reporting, including a good understanding of key metrics, processes and how lending products work.
•To exceed in this role, it would be fantastic if you have exposure to another programming language such as SAS, Python, R)

Important Footnote Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box.  We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.  So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck!
