As the Lead Business Continuity Manager, you will be accountable for developing, embedding and maintaining Metro Bank’s business continuity policy, minimum standards and associated tools and processes in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will make sure robust response plans are in place, so that if an unforeseen disruption event occurs, Metro Bank will be able to quickly respond and recover; making sure we continue to provide amazing customer service.

So what would you be doing?...

• Leading our approach to business continuity to make sure we can continue to deliver amazing customer service during operational disruption events
• Testing continuity plans and leading a programme of scenario disruption exercises to identify our preparedness and strategies for managing disruption events   
• Coordinating continuity plans during and after a disruption event
• Maintaining relationships with your key stakeholders across the Bank to make sure all critical operations continue to function and customer service is maintained
• Making sure robust event response plans are in place to severe but plausible threats occurring
• Defining and managing the implementation of training and monitoring the adherence to the policy and standards

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• You need to be an experienced Business Continuity Manager
• To enjoy this role, you’ve got to be comfortable and have experience of implementing a business continuity plan across a multi-site, multi system business 
• You need to have in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of business continuity planning 
• It would be great if you have experience developing and maintaining a business continuity plan framework 
• In order to be amazing in this role, you need a good understanding of core banking operations and critical processes
• You will have working knowledge of major IT architectural components (whilst the technical disaster recovery plans are a matter for IT, you need to know enough about recovering – for example – data centres, to ask the right questions of IT
