Are you a Financial Crime Specialist with brilliant analytical and report writing skills? Could you support a first line of defence function to review new cases, documenting findings whilst delivering fantastic customer service? Can you effectively communicate your findings with colleagues at all levels across an organisation? If yes, we may have the role for you!

As we continue to grow our FCRC team, we are looking for experienced EDD case writers to join us as Financial Crime Risk and Control Specialists. You will be responsible for supporting the review, effective implementation and ongoing compliance of the bank’s policies and minimum standards across our customer facing business areas. You will focus on quality checking complex and high risk cases, documenting your findings in a structured way so that we can improve capability within your area. You’ll also have input on how we adapt our processes and training to the changing landscape of Financial Crime legislation.

So what would you be doing?...

• Undertaking deadline driven EDD reviews on identified high risk customers
• Thoroughly document your findings including details like source of funds, wealth and income
• Reporting your findings and recommendations with a range of stakeholders across the Bank 
• Acting as a subject matter expert for high risk customers to make sure the bank aligns to regulatory expectations
• Supporting the implementation and ongoing monitoring of necessary controls to bring distribution channels in line with AML/CTF, sanctions, ABC and anti-tax evasion policies
• Implementing risk-based approach to Financial Crime controls based on the Financial Crime risk assessment and risk appetite
• Helping to embed Financial Crime related policies as required by business and regulation changes
• Supporting the production of MI and risk/resilience reports in accordance with governance requirements

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• You will have experience of undertaking EDD reviews on a variety of high-risk customers in a financial services role
• A good understanding of bribery and corruption, as well as money laundering legislation and how it impacts on completing EDD reviews would be required
• Naturally, you will have experience working in a Financial Crime function within financial services
• We need you to have experience in supporting business in assessing higher risk customers as part of customer acceptance and review process
• In order to exceed in this role, you will have strong communication, attention to detail and analytical skills
• A relevant AML or Financial Crime qualification would be desirable
