We strongly believe in a diverse and inclusive workplace and to find the very best person for the job, we always look across a wide range of diverse communities. • As the Finance Director – Financial Control, you will be responsible for regulatory reporting, financial reporting, technical accounting, tax, accounts payable, risk and controls, systems, transformation and operational aspects of Metro Bank’s Finance function • Ensure that the timely and accurate financial information is provided to internal and external stakeholders (including but not limited to Exco, Board, Markets and Regulators) • Drive process improvement through redesign and automation • Continued improvement of the regulatory reporting, financial reporting, tax, and financial systems aspects of the Finance function, including operating model, processes and systems • Provide technical counsel and support to the wider finance team • Advise on prudential regulatory requirements • Chair and present at relevant committees • A strong working knowledge of the UK regulatory regime, technical accounting and regulatory capital requirements • Excellent technical understanding of Banking and how to lead complex processes with multiple stakeholders • Demonstrable experience of communicating and influencing stakeholders both individually and in forums such as ExCo, ROC, Audit Committee • Experience of developing and managing a team of direct reports and having oversight of their technical remits • Excellent attention to detail, combined with problem solving skills and managing multiple deadlines • Professional Accountancy qualification or equivalent • Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders • We will make sure that you are well-rewarded by providing you with a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits, including generous holiday allowance, attractive pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, and a number of colleague discounts! • We will give you the training to ensure you succeed in your role and plenty of internal opportunities to progress your career (around 40% of our recruitment comes from internal promotions!). • We are also all about balance so most of our jobs offer the opportunity for hybrid working built around your role and home life, wherever possible.
