As the Cloud SRE/DevOps Engineer, you will be working within the amazing Metro Bank Engineering function, where you will be responsible for driving automation, reliability and observability across critical platforms & applications. You will also make sure they meet the requirements of both internal & external customers.

So what would you be doing?...
• Driving automation within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Eliminating repetitive manual processes using automation
• Driving the build of Reliable, Scalable, and Observable solutions on Private & Public Cloud Platforms
• Assisting with the resolution of issues that Engineering or Ops teams may have
• Working closely with architects and solution engineers to ensure adherence to standards and designs
• Incorporating best practices into the build and running of solutions
• Contributing to the SRE/DevOps community within the bank to share knowledge and experience and promote re-use of proven solutions and code

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• You will need strong experience with CI/CD tooling like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GIT, Nexus and SonarQube to create automated Build, Test and Release pipelines as part of the SDLC
• You will have experience of Agile methodologies and ways of working including using tools like Jira and Confluence
• You should understand the concepts and principles of Site Reliability Engineering, and DevSecOps
• You will need to have experience in tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate the build, delivery and management of Infrastructure and Applications into NonProd and Prod environments
• You should have experience of microservice and container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker and also of API Gateways and Service Meshes like Kong and Istio
• Experience of Monitoring and Logging solutions (like App Dynamics, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
• You should have proven experience of building & supporting solutions on Public Cloud (AWS or Azure) or Private Cloud (VMWare) platforms
• You should have knowledge of Operating Systems (specifically Linux) and of Cloud Networking concepts
• You should demonstrate an aptitude for logical thinking and good troubleshooting skills
