What you will do:

 

  • Process domestic and international cheques
  • Processing unpaid cheques, including both cheques drawn on our customers and payable to our customers
  • Manage complaints/queries relating to all aspects of cheque processing
  • Completing fraud checks and making fraud referrals 
  • Communicating to customers when cheques are returned/unpaid
  • Working directly with correspondent banks when required
  • Reconciliation, ensuring all accounting entries are cleared and accounted for
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by the role including inbound and outbound telephone calls.

 What you will need: 
 

  • You will understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using payment platforms (CRM, T24, Barclays.Net )
  • Proficiency in using third party services to complete processing. 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good computer literacy using MS Office suite
  • Skilled in managing customer and colleague bump-up’s, complaints and escalations and the ability to turn potential detractors into FANS
  • Time management (prioritisation) and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to balance workload when dealing with multiple priorities and SLA’s
