As the Chapter Lead – Infrastructure, you will be responsible for all the infrastructure in non-production and production environments within Metro Bank. You will also translate the developments in your domain into strategy within the chapter and makes sure it is well transferred to all chapter members.

So what would you be doing?...
• Assisting in engineering, building the features that customer value using their knowledge to assist and lead the team in excellence
• Setting and defining standards and best practice and communicating to colleagues, mentoring colleagues and contributing to engineering excellence
• Ensuring that the infrastructure is delivered in a manner that supports appropriate levels of resilience, performance and capacity
• Providing infrastructure services vision and enabling innovation and leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the bank’s requirements and expectations
• Ensuring Continuous innovation and IT legacy removal
• Working closely with IT Security stakeholders to ensure the security of IT Infrastructure and systems
• Setting the direction for internal environments and infrastructure capability, including standards, guardrails and people development
• Coordinating infrastructure builds, configurations and deployments to ensure a stable platform for the business
• Ensuring that appropriate segregation of duties is maintained and that access controls for individuals within the team are appropriately separated in line with policy
• Defining user access controls for end users for the suite of applications within the team in consultation with the IT Security team

• Environments knowledge: creation and maintenance of environments provisioning policy; env strategy; env planning, effort and cost estimations; environment usage planning; Waterfall, V-model and Agile SDLC understanding
• An advanced understanding of all areas of IT, best practices and emerging technologies
• Extensive knowledge of data centre operations, telecommunications, network engineering, data centre applications and client/server computing
• Experience of working in an Agile work environment
• Experience of TDD/BDD development methodology
• Experience of DevOps practice in their field
