As a Risk Manager you are accountable for identifying, managing and monitoring operational risks and controls across the Commercial businesses areas – specifically Invoice Finance and Asset Finance. This will involve working with these business areas, reviewing and implementing the Bank’s Risk Management Framework and supporting policies and minimum standards and in doing so, providing a compliant environment for the Bank to operate in from a Customer and regulatory perspective. You will be responsible for providing support, education and training to Colleagues to build risk awareness within the department.

So what would you be doing?...
•Managing risks within Invoice Finance and Asset Finance with a view to driving continuous improvement and mitigate risks.
•Facilitate delivery of core risk and control processes including Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Management of Issues and Incidents, Operational Loss Event reporting, Risk Management Action Plan and Risk Governance and Reporting activity.
•Support in the development and execution of a Control Assurance Testing Approach, challenging outputs and supporting the business areas in identifying and testing the effectiveness of key controls to mitigate risks.
•Developing and producing quality risk MI (KPI & KRI’s) to provide senior management with insight on the adequacy and effectiveness of the management of our most material non-financial risks and underlying control environment
•Understanding regulation and policy by keeping updated with changes and ensuring these are implemented and understood by the business area

•Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
•Experience of working as a Risk Manager with knowledge of core risk tools and processes e.g. risk & control assessments, controls assurance, risk event reporting and risk reporting (KRIs)
•Experience of working in a 1st or 2nd Line Risk & Control team of a financial services firm or similar.
•Prior experience of process improvement in an operational environment
•Experience within Invoice Finance and/or Asset Finance
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as you will need to be confident to present and report on key risks and issues to Risk Forums and senior audiences.
