As a Mortgage Consultant at Metro Bank you will provide amazing service and expert advice to our new and existing direct mortgage customers via our store network. Working closely with the rest of the Direct Mortgages team, you will play a key role in creating new mortgage customers for Metro Bank by actioning referrals, building relationships, matching requirements and general delivering amazing customer service at all times. This role is key in representing our brand and creating fans, by providing unparalleled service and expert advice.

Depending on the team, most of our roles offer hybrid working. There are several locations that this role can be based from, please indicate your location when you apply and our recruitment team will be happy to discuss this further with you.

So what would you be doing?...

• Creating new direct mortgage customers by proactively managing all referrals and delivering a consistently amazing application experience
• Providing expert knowledge and advice to internal and external customers by building relationships and matching individual requirements with the best products based on personal circumstances
• Working in partnership with the whole mortgage team to proactively manage our existing customer portfolio, helping to create new fans and supporting customers with further advances/porting/rate switch needs
• Building and maintaining on-going relationships with colleagues across Retail, and Private & Commercial Banking to support potential customer mortgage needs, aligned to our model and product set
• Operating within Metro Banks Training and Competence scheme, key controls, operational and service procedures, as well as role modelling at all times - ensuring all you do is in line with all regulatory compliance and conduct

•Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• Naturally you will need expert knowledge and proven experience in mortgages and other associated products to succeed in this role
• You will be able to demonstrate your experience in a customer facing mortgage advisory role, within a financial services organisation
• Ideally you will have good experience of interacting with customers to understand their mortgage needs
• You will have the ability to own customer issues through to quick resolution, or by bumping up to the most appropriate colleague or team
• You will also have great communication skills, with a proven ability to work well on your own as well as within a team 
• To be successful in this role, you will have strong planning and organising skills and great use of initiative 
• Of course you will have proven relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Finally, you must be CeMAP qualified to be considered for this role
