As the Internal Audit Manager (Financial Crime) at Metro Bank, you will support the Chief Internal Auditor to provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of financial crime controls to the CEO and Audit Committee. You will also work with colleagues to ensure fraud and financial crime policies and procedures are being applied appropriately, whilst always looking for ways to improve processes to continuously deliver an amazing service.

So what would you be doing?...

• Helping to devise and execute a risk based annual audit plan in the financial crime space
• Supporting the Chief Internal Auditor to provide an independent view of the design and operating effectiveness of financial crime related policies, processes and controls across various business areas of the Bank
• Constructively challenge policies and procedures and recommend improvements where appropriate
• Working independently to scope and deliver high quality audits and produce audit reports for Senior Management, the Audit Committee and where requested, for the Regulators
• Maintaining adequate standards of documentation supporting audit conclusions
• Following up on audit recommendations and ensuring that they have been implemented before reporting them as closed to the Audit Committee
• Keeping up to date on regulatory changes and industry best practices

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• Naturally you will have a good, broad knowledge of financial crime prevention across the banking and financial service space. 
• Understanding of financial crime risk-assessment methodology, tools and processes woudl be highly advantageous
• Good Financial Crime Audit or Advisory experience in a 2nd or 3rd Line function within retail banking would be great, but a broad knowledge of Financial Crime prevention is key
• Good stakeholder management, team working and interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ideally with report writing experience 
• An understanding of the role of internal audit
