As the IT Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for developing and providing IT configuration management to the IT Organisation and for the configuration and hardware asset management processes, governance and reporting. You will also take responsibility for building the CMDB to centralise our IT data source to aid in IT day to day activities.
Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working.
So what would you be doing?...
• Investigating and identifying the various inventories used across Metro Bank for integration with Configuration Management
• Using our ITSM tool (ServiceNow), establish the Discovery layers to capture to build our CMDB
• Developing the relationship models to ensure that Configuration Items are correctly mapped to aid in Incident and Change impact activities
• Establishing the Configuration Management and hardware asset management processes, working with the wider Service Management and Service Operation teams to ensure that the correct integration and touch points are known and captured
• Developing reporting to demonstrate Infrastructure controls reflected by the CMDB and Discovery Agents
• Working with our IT teams to establish API data feeds to establish the CMDB as the Golden Source
• Ensuring that data loading of Configuration Items outside of discovery is completed
• Working with Service transition to capture new Service Models/Structures and how these will be structured within the CMDB
• Establishing Configuration Item lifecycles, especially around retired hardware
• Developing automation in the creation and daily maintenance of the CMDB, using considerations from trigger processes such as Change Management

• Working knowledge of a CMDB, the structure, terminology and surrounding processes to support configuration management
• You must have knowledge of ServiceNow discovery, best practice, relationships and how CIs map across the CMDB
• Ideally, you will have experience in relationship mapping of infrastructure
• You must have experience in proactive Configuration Management
• Ideally, you will have and ITIL Accreditation
