Are you an expert in Access Management? Can you manage multiple suppliers and applications? Do you nurture a team to help them grow? If yes, then we have the role for you!

As the Authentication Chapter Lead, you will build up the right capabilities in people within the Authentication Chapter, equipping them with the skills, tools, and standard approaches to deliver functional excellence, and ensure that they are focused on delivering value to the business. You will manage and own a number of authentication / access management applications including ForgeRock, Transmit and 4TRESS.

Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working.

So what would you be doing?...

• Setting and defining processes, standards and best practice for access management applications along with implementing improvements to tooling
• Monitoring the Authentication applications, including ForgeRock and Transmit, across value streams and ensure each applications capabilities are developed on in a consistent and coordinated approach
• Building up the right capabilities in people within the chapter, equipping them with the skills, tools, and standard approaches to deliver technical excellence
• Assisting engineers within the Chapter with building the features that are linked to outcomes for a given value stream

• Working with third party providers where necessary offering direction, support, and documentation
• Creating business cases for when and why platforms need upgrading and present these to ELT, when necessary, in an articulate manner for an audience that may not be technical

• Writing and contributing to technical standards and technology roadmaps and grow the capabilities within your platform through training and mentoring

You need to be this kind of person…

• Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers
• Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment
• Prepared to stick at something – we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job as we want people who are prepared to learn and grow
• Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do

And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the courage to call out any concerns.

We always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things...

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• Expert knowledge in at least one of the following Authentication technologies: - Forgerock, Transmit and other Access Management systems
• Authentication Chapter Leader will be experienced in development and integration of Authentication journeys, Cloud based technology, API and Microservices
• Knowledge and experience in the use of tools such as Jira and Confluence, plus experience of working in an Agile work environment
• Experience of DevOps practices and TDD/BDD development methodology
• Experience of vendor and supplier management, setting up effective chapter processes and controls, and risk management
• Knowledge and experience with Line management, coaching, mentoring and how to build sustainable and high performing capabilities over time

Important Footnote Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box.  We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked.  So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck!
